Hampton Inn - Houma, LA
82 Rooms
Problem:
The hotel was built in April 1998 by Harold Rosbottom, Jr. during a strong period in the Houma ecomony. After completion, the economy slowly began a multi-year decline due to a depressed oil industry. The hotel’s revenues had been flat. Service levels were acceptable, yet not outstanding.
Solution:
Integral formulated a plan to make strategic capital investments back into the hotel in order to prepare it for a rebound in the economy. When the oil and shipbuilding sectors bounced back in the second quarter of 2003, the hotel’s product offering was much better than that of its competitors. This positioned the Hampton to capture the lion’s share of the new hotel demand.
Results:
Thanks to the product improvements revenues and service scores soared together. REVPAR soared an amazing 37.1% between the end of 2002 and the end of 2004. The hotel has also moved up 341 positions in the Hampton TQS Balanced Scorecard system. The value of the hotel has increased by more than $1.5 million.
